Title: For real?
Post by: gog on August 23, 2015, 09:45:08 AM
Came across a load of "proof sheets" for ICE book and box covers for sale on e-bay (one example being http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iron-Crown-Enterprises-I-C-E-Proof-Sheets-for-War-Law-Rolemaster-Robot-War-/371419004742? ) and ponder are these genuine and should they be for sale?

If you are curious you should contact Thom at ICE or Colin at ICE and see if they can dig up anything on theses for you.
I myself do not know if they are real or not.
I would also be curious to see where/how the seller got them.

Total speculation but...

Honestly I don't see why someone would fake these and it's not like they are asking a bunch of money for them.  Probably would have come from a warehouse of the original printer shop if I had to guess.  Still, what would you do with them?  I mean, I like RM better than any other RPG, but it's not like it's highly collectible and I'm not going to frame them and put them on the wall or anything.  The original creators of RM would likely have more interest in them than anyone simply for nostalgia sake.

I can't confirm either, but they look legit to me. These would be ICE property, but I also recall that certain items were auctioned off for charity, as well as to raise money near the time of the bankruptcy, so these could have been released for that.

I'm afraid I can't help either.

Sorry.

There are people who occasionally ask for prints of specific RM covers maybe some of them will buy one and frame it or maybe they could blow it up for a print and have it not be too blurry.
