Gencon 2022
« on: January 27, 2022, 09:02:30 PM »
It is time for your yearly Gencon thread!

I have put up two HARP events for this coming con and am considering more.
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I just looked at the Event Catalogue, and was happy to see so many Rolemaster (Unified) sessions! Aaron is really going all out!

I see 13 different sessions, 7 of which are already sold out. Way to go Aaron!

Sadly, I won't be going this year (going to wait one more year for Covid to die down!), but we are planning to go the following year.

It will be interesting to see how crowded it is this year.

Thanks Hurin.  Yup, gonna be busy for me.

On that note, GenCon just contacted me about the fact that they want all of the Iron Crown Enterprises games organized under one lead EO/GM and since I submitted 13 different sessions and have been designated by Nicholas to be the Booth Manager (even though my time there will be very limited, while Monte and Nick will be handling most of the booth activity), they wanted me to put together a list of all "official" ICE games for them.

As such, Kirsa, I will PM you momentarily and if anyone else is planning to run anything please let me know if you want it to be an "official" ICE session (usually Colin will be able to set up some sort of reward for players in the GenCon sessions).

Did you get the stat for Ogre from Creature Law?

GenCon 2022 summary:
Scheduled to run 13 sessions of RMU at GenCon this year, with 11 selling out, although the very last session on Sunday (which had sold out) did not have enough people show up to actually run.
Kirsa also scheduled 3 HARP sessions, with most also selling out (can't recall if it was all three or not), but not many showed up for his Sunday game either, but at least it was enough to run the game.
Overall, the convention went very well.  We had two copies printed and spiral bound of each the 99.9% completed RMU Core Law and Spell Law (was waiting on a handful of artwork pieces for them).  All four of which were given away to RMU players who showed that they are hard-core Rolemaster fans and who contributed a lot to the games that they sat in on.
We also received a lot of very positive feedback on the close to release version of the RMU books.
Sales were good at the booth, but unfortunately there were some issues with damage and printing errors with just over half of the copies of HARP Bestiary, so that hurt sales due to not having enough copies available.

I swing by the booth a few times and I was glad to see the sales going well.  I was tempted a grab some books myself, but figured I'd leave them to potentially be sold (and I can just order them off the website with my credits there anyhow).
