Is Cyradon suitd for playing Rolemaster?
« on: March 22, 2009, 10:25:50 PM »
I mean, without a lot of work con converting stuff.
I'm working on a Warhammer Fantasy / Rolemaster conversi?n but i think is going to take a while. And it looks like there's no campaign setting for Rolemaster.

Shadow World is the only current RM setting, but ICE is working on a RMC version of Cyradon IIRC...
I suppose a magician might, he admitted, but a gentleman never could.

If I may offer an opinion on Cyradon. In the setting as standard the characters are thrust in the the heart of  the action right away. With HARP this is fine as level one characters are reasonably capable -> however in RM 1st level characters are not so capable... also in HARP healing is easier. So my advice is beef up the starting characters a bit - level 3 should do it. Start with some reasonable armour and weapons and it should be good I think.

PS yes and of course as resourses [such as access to high level healers] will probably be low a inital generous supply of healing herbs :O)

Everything is IMNSHO and always YMMV applies

This was already thought of. RMC Cyradon is more based on RMX than on the core RMC rules. Plus, there are rules for including Cultures (same as those from EA) and including Talents. This means that characters will start with more hits and more power points than core rule characters.

RMC Cyradon will be a rules & setting book (including RMX-style attack tables) so that it will be the only book required to play RMC in Cyradon.

Is there any current date for the release of the RMC Cyradon?  Even a ballpark?

This is your first post on the forums, Poustman, so WELCOME ABOARD!

The answer to your question is a stern "When it's done!" from the 800 pound gorilla hiding under the bridge.  :monkey:  His name is Tim.  Just throw a bunch of bananas in his direction, and run quickly.  ;D

I know that it is being worked on but I do not think a date as been released yet and if it has I do not know it. I would guess [yes a guess] sometime before next summer at the outside. But they may do a thing like HARP Sci-Fi and release the PDF for people to hunt through and find any errors that crop up in the text or tables.

Unfortunately, "When it is done" is the best answer you are going to get (somebody please go smack dutch with a 2x4 for me).

In the past, ICE has given release dates before and ended up with delays that caused problems (Murphy's Law - anything that can go wrong, will go wrong -- and Murphy LOVES screwing with us). We eventually gave up on trying to fix dates.  ;D

However, having said that, let me also say that the manuscript is shaping up nicely I am expecting the next draft within a few days. Our original goal was to release around this time, but then we had some issues that put things back a couple of months.

In fact, right now, my focus is on getting it finished (now that I have finished my work on the next two modules for ICE).
