A Gun for Transhuman Vs
« on: February 08, 2012, 09:28:45 AM »
It has been a while since I even looked at the original SM, but I do remember there was a genetic/eugenic creation called Transhuman V.  IIRC, they were nothing more than man-made Hulks.

Well, here is gun for them.

Perfect.

But the Trans XII makes a Trans V look like a lost puppy.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

True, plus the XII has an element of natural cool that the V thinks he has, but just doesn't.

They aren't the real hulks though. VIIs are the way to go for that if you're looking for a 7 foot tall meat monster.

Do the three sets of minigun barrels rotate around each other also? I can't see any reason why they would, but the thought of a bullet pattern resembling ye olde spirographic amuses me.

the only pattern will be blood smears with that cannon.  with the right ammo, it could me Mk X.

My first though when seeing this topic pop up in my RSS feed was, "Why would anyone want a gun that uses Transhuman Vs as ammunition?"

Dual purpose anti-armor/antipersonnel, of course.   ::)

I was thinking multiple rolls on the Nodwick attack table.

I wish.  It'd be fun to watch it disintegrate whatever it shot.

LOL  ;D

How true.  It would throw, what?, about 1000 bullets a second?  Maybe about $.50 a bullet (if massively produced), that would be $500 a second?  Hmm... definitely for a government with DEEEEEEEEEEEP pockets.

And I definitely like Marc R's reference to the old spirograph.  Still have a set myself.  Never use it.  Perhaps I aught to break it out and play?

i know u stated a massive production run, but $4 to $7 a bullet isn't unreasonable and a great way to keep such a gun outside of pc's hands OR cost them a fortune.  considering the firepower, i'd be reluctant to give a cost break unless over 100,000 rounds are purchased.

then $3.50 a bullet  8)

I was thinking an Arnold Schwarzenager (msp?) character since such would have an almost illimitable wallet. ;)

while not as bad as chuck norris, arnie also seemed to have a few enchanted never empty magizines on hand.  to quote a famouse clown, homie don't play that.

i might let a quiver hold a few more arrows than it should in a fantasy setting, but cash is power in modern settings.  as GM, i'm always coming up with new expenses.  buy a house?  the furnace will go out.  come spring, i'll inform the player to pick a number on d100...if he rolls it, a tornado goes through his neighborhood.  i demand a 5x Co mod roll once a month vesus catching colds or flu, or if the PC is sexually active, worse.  PC's rarely have health insurance.

no free lunch.  i'm freindly enough with character design.  the rich talent is one i dont let into play often (exception, CHAMPIONS).

now consider the power and advantages of the better trans humans...ok, I admit I banned them long ago, lol.
