Title: Traveler FF&S Sensors in SM:P
Post by: markc on February 09, 2011, 10:28:59 AM
1) I can say one of the things I really like is how they deal with sensors. They do a good job with them in the construction of craft in Fire Fusion and Steel with them taking up surface area. But one thing we know now is that you can spread small sensors over the entire surface of the craft to form a large synthetic sensor area. So my question is this for those of you who use T3 FF&S with SM:P, do you just figure out the smallest dimensions of the craft and use that for your dimensions of the sensor? Or do you do it the old way as presented in the FF&S book?

2) I was thinking with the surface area of solar sales would also make a great sensor. Do you think that it would/should be possible to combine the two?

It depends on the angle, really. . .if the ship doesn't obstruct much of the sail in a given angle I'd say yes.

Yes I was thinking that depending on the angle of the sail for the solar wind at optimal of 90 degrees to the small axis of the ship would be the best.
