Tailoring a Class

I'm converting characters from another system to SpaM;p. Most translate across just fine. However, one characters prior experience was mostly as a free trader. Sci-fi tramp steamer slash firefly type stuff. The closest fit for a class seems to be Criminal, based on skill costs, but here is my question.

Would it break the system to change some of her bonus skills points from subterfuge to influence to help with her trading? Or is it better left alone and a close fit being a close-enough fit?
