The Alliance
« on: October 17, 2015, 12:58:56 PM »
Is it just me, or does the Alliance seem like a really serious threat to pretty much every realm in Emer? They're bigger and more organised than pretty much everywhere, especially the pocket realms and city states that are in Emer I. Only Namar-Tol really seems capable of fending them off, with Lankanok a maybe.

The Alliance is very dangerous. Only Sel-kai, Namar-tol and maybe Lankanok can resist them or become subjects of their empire. I intend to explore this further in rpg books and novels.

The Terran Empire might also have a role to play.

I think even Sel-kai would struggle without help. The city-state reminds me strongly of Venice, which was very powerful at its height but not an empire, and when it went up against the Ottomans it lost.

I hadn't really considered that the Alliance is operating on multiple fronts and has foes that are much better organised than anywhere in Emer.

Neee-Wom,
I deleted your attachments of the map as they are protected by ICE Copy rights.

You could seek permission from someone higher up at ICE and then I can approve them.

Thanks for your understanding.

But I do not know what he got and if he got permission for the map from whom he got it. So it may be a little while more.

Ahh, NP; I thought it maybe a glitchy thing with my Mac interface. Hope you are doing well!

Agree! Large parts of Emer stand risk of being subjugated by the Alliance. Vajaar has already fallen and are now preparing an invasion of Kaitaine (now an official enemy of the Alliance), this at least in my version of Shadow World. I hope that Emer IV will shed some more light on this.

In my version of things, the Ahrereth is actually probably the most prepared and organized against the threat of the Alliance advancement. The Loremasters are sitting on their asses, not even knowing if the Alliance is a bad thing or not. However, the Ahenreth sees the advancement of the Alliance to their doorstep as a significant risk. Jenkyna, is one of only a handful of people (Andraax being another) actually knowing the Thalan heritage of the Alliance. She has not revealed this to any other members of the Ahrenreth, at least not yet, but she sees the Ahrenreth as a potential tool to be used to capture the Thalan (maybe for study, or maybe for more sinister purposes). Kyrunak, the mystic adherent, has quickly infiltrated his way close to the brotherhood...
