Eidolon
« on: October 04, 2015, 11:54:07 AM »
I've just purchased it and it's converting into my OneNote now.

I'm excited --- my copy of 1st ed fell apart years ago and is held together by clips.

Anyone else had a chance to crack it yet?  Quite timely as I've just started a Sel-Kai based run.

Looks nice as always but I have a question.

Should there be info somewhere about precious metals'/magical materials'/others' "pluses" (e.g. Laen +25, Eog +30), price multipliers etc.? On page 200 under Part 3 Price Charts there's the following text:  "b) Superior or Enhanced Goods: Goods with significant bonuses or unusual properties based on heavier designs, superior technology, enchantment, magic, etc., are not listed. Prices for these items should be calculated using the process described in Part XII. Note that typical weights and lengths are given as ranges." Page 200 is a part of Part XII.

Got it, looks great, a good revamp of one of Terry's best. Loved the new illustrations, they do a great job at conveying how being in Sel-Kai / Eidolon feels. Will have to take a second careful look for the new material.
As you wish...

Also quite excited to see one of my all time favorite roleplaying books in a new edition. So far, I've only skimmed through, but the new colour renderings are great, they alone make the purchase worthwhile for me.

I've started reading through it and was very pleased to note that new material has been well integrated into the existing text, so it reads very well.  The new and updated illustrations are nicely done as well.

Is there a thread where we should note any errors/issues so they can be corrected before the print version comes out?

starflt,
What I would do is start an Eidolon Errata thread and post your comments there.

Picked up a copy earlier - seems like a lot of fun. I actually recommended it as a good (non-canonical) sourcebook for fans of Bruce Heard's Calidar setting.
