SM: Privateers VM Construction & Design: Armor Belt
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:19:21 PM »
Hello everyone,

How would you represent the replacement cost for some of a vehicle's armor plate based on the following basic scenario.

Our beleaguered adventures are trying to patch up about 1 ton of the armor belt on a TL 25 TMAC (per the design example), unfortunately the TL 25 armor belt material is not in stock. There is an abundant supply of crystanium (CAT XIV) on hand .

I'm considering using a combination of the Hull Cost and Armor Belt Cost formulas:

Hull Cost = Mass X 100 x Total Cost Factor

Armor Belt Cost = Vehicle Mass x Cost Multiplier

Armor Belt Replacement Cost =
Replaced Armor Belt mass x Hull & Superstructure Cost Multiplier x Armor Belt Protection Modifier.

1 ton of crystanium armor belt x 5.5 x 100 = 550 Credits.

This would be subtracted from the original specifications for a brand new factory direct model.

Does the above sound like a workable solution?
