And I really appreciate that you are making that effort.  It's incredibly frustrating to have physical books that go obsolete faster than video game strategy guides.  Thank you for taking that into account for those of us that buy hardbacks.

Quote from: Matt_Keller on August 06, 2026, 02:11:58 PMThere appears to be an error in the formulae in cells I198:I200 .
The COUNTIF range H40:L60 was incremented as the cells were copy/pasted, so the second vocation skips the first Training Package and
the third skips the first two.

Thanks. Fixed in 9.0.35. Same link as above.

On page 79, Table 3.1 has "Animal Healing" instead of "Animal Handling*" (as per Core Law Table 2-3).

Also on that table, Riding is missing the "*" that is in Core Law.

Quote from: TigerShaman on August 05, 2026, 03:17:56 PMOk, so the physical hardback I have is up to date, even though I bought it when it first came out.  That is what I was trying to confirm.   Thank you.

We're trying not to change rules that have been published. So far, the closest we've gotten has been optional rules offered in subsequent books.

Quote from: Hurin on July 13, 2017, 10:48:39 PMIn particular, I am thinking of the first spell, 'Non Fatigue', on the Self Control list. Making the caster immune to fatigue penalties for 1 min/level is exceptionally powerful for a caster in RMU, since fatigue penalties are the main limitation on the speed of prepping spells. If one is immune to fatigue, one can cast spells with much less prep.

We're removing that, so that particular aspect will be moot. I only gave the lists a quick look, there might be other issues.

One thing that did jump out at me was that durations of 1 min/lvl are good for combat spells (e.g. those size modifiers) but seem low when using change self type spells for disguise, infiltration, and other non-combat oriented purposes.

When you say you are removing this, can you clarify exactly what that means?

It's a post from 2017, I had to go back to remember the context. But: in a beta version of RMU, spell preparation or overcasting or something required fatigue rolls for concentration. I don't remember exactly. And then we removed that from the rules and simplified prep, so the concern about fatigue's relevance to casting became irrelevant by the time RMU was published.

Ok, so the physical hardback I have is up to date, even though I bought it when it first came out.  That is what I was trying to confirm.   Thank you.

It says:

The core RMC rules contain 6 weapon skills and 8 martial arts skills, and 1 skill that increases the Defensive Bonus of martial artist professions. Using the rules presented in this section all of these skills are replaced with a single skill called Combat Styles.

You don't buy the regular strikes/sweeps skills at all, you just buy the style. The number of attack tiers helps determine the cost of the style, you don't have to buy 4x the style for 4 tiers, the additional tiers just increase the style cost.

So my reading is that if the weapon kata requires 10 ranks of tier 4, that means you need 10 ranks in a style that grants tier 4 attacks.

Can someone help me understand how Martial Arts styles work with CC? If I buy a style that has Tier 4 attacks, do I need to buy it repeatedly like normal MA rules?

If a Weapon Kata requires Tier 4(10), could my above style work as a prerequisite after hitting 10 ranks?

Not yet, no. I'll probably make an edit list for Nick for this weekend, but realistically we will keep finding stuff for a month. That's why we don't release to print right away. So there will probably be a couple updates of the PDF before it's done.

I will post in this thread when an updated PDF becomes available; if you've allowed notifications on DTR you'll also get an email from them.
