I'm old school... or really old.  I don't even want cell phones at the table.  I've used background music twice.  It added nothing to the game and no one even noticed it.  I *do* pass out calculators.  I get aggravated when players try to do all the math in their head and it still comes out wrong.

good call on the calculators.
because i play exclusively online now, the tech is pretty unavoidable but i def rely on it a bit much at times.
Im old too and used to play more face to face.
i have actually use AI quite a bit to help with story hooks and NPC dialogue recently.
Starting to dabble in AI art also but it still feels OTT in some ways and i want to get back to more 'old school' GM techniques.
This might look and sound like me reading a monster description i used AI to write but also more roleplaying interactions/encounters in live games.

My next Rolemaster game is going to be face to face.

My group play face to face, but we have a combat tracker to manage tracking damage, some skill checks and resistance checks. Basically the players roll the dice when they initiate the skill check but I use the program when the enemies do things to avoid players knowing something is up if ask them to do a perception check.

Nothing. One player uses his laptop for references (spell lists, character sheet) and to take notes, but that's all.

Software to track combat and injuries, even playing at the table. Remote play via Roll20 when necessary, but I prefer in person.

So while I much prefer in person... it's not going to happen for me for some time.

My online games use a lots of digital support  :D  I may not be the typical user.  I use Roll20 VTT (naturally).  All characters are on roll20.   I look up spells and rules in the roll20 compendium.  Attacks and criticals are rolled by the VTT.   We use Discord for voice chat.

One group I run with plays mostly in person, sometimes almost entirely old-school with dice and PnP character sheets.

The other is 3000km away and uses Roll20 exclusively (with Discord for voice). In those games, I track creature hit points and injuries with the three little circles (red, blue, green) that pop up when you target the token. I do look forward to using the R20 character sheet (thanks, Nash!) for future Roll20 games though (it just wasn't available when I started the campaign).

So sorry to hijack the threads... but for the three circles - what values do you use for each (and colours).  I'm trying to figure out what they should display by default.

HP, total penalties seem obvious.. but not sure what else?

First bubble (red) I use for HP.
Second Bubble (green) I usually make AT(DB), just so I have an easy reference for defensive stats.
Third bubble (blue) I do OB (which I adjust downwards when injury penalties accrue)

That gives me all the main stats I need to run the creatures. I track stuns with the default yellow (light), orange (medium) and red (heavy) dots. Staggers are the even lighter yellow.
