Converting D&D 5e to RM
« on: June 05, 2024, 01:00:19 PM »
I know there are rules in C&T I  for converting AD&D monsters, but does anyone know of any rules of converting 5e monsters?

I don't know of any published rules.

Armor Types are easy to convert. You can also use the template rules in Creature Law (beta) to get level-appropriate OBs and skill bonuses.

Spells can be hit or miss, but I haven't found it too hard to convert even unique D&D spells into a RM equivalent. (I've done a couple of 5e module conversions to RMU and just did it all on the fly).

the level conversion works roughly.

attributes should be converted directly using the old d20 charts.

skill bonus is so weirdly different from AD&D and 3E, if you convert them on a 1:5 basis the result will be underrated for its RM level.

1:10 to 1:15 would be more appropriate.

I'd swallow cthulhu whole, with sushi and soy-sauce.
