Alcohol's penalties
« on: August 21, 2011, 02:57:37 PM »
 Hi all,

Does any one know if there are rules for alcohol's effects? Are the penalties to OB fixed or a % penalty of the character's OB?

Regards,

One of the Iron Crown Quarterlies had an alternate skill called "Hide/Control Intoxication" (SD/EM, Subterfuge) - perhaps it had an explanation with it?

However, there may be a bonus for excessive drinking, or at least effects that aren't penalties.

1. First hits the cerebral cortex; more talkative, less inhibited. Easier to interrogate.

2. Then hippocampus. Memory loss and exaggerated emotions. Maybe easier to go into frenzy or perform Power/Adrenal Maneuvers. Ignore a round of stun, ignore a % of hits; still damages you. Ignore  minor penalties from crits until you sober up.

3. Cerebellum helps with balance. Lose Agility bonus.

4. Finally, it hits your medula which regulates involuntary functions. Yeah you could die, but it might be easier to feign death. You might not come out of it though.

This does seem similar to RM poison rules.

Nonsense. Alcohol makes me both funny and clever, not to mention handsome.
