Elf Sleep In Shadow World
« on: January 06, 2023, 07:28:55 AM »
Our play group came across a rules change that we missed for going on 2 decades. In looking through the shadow world related books, Master Atlas, Races/Cultures etc, Shadow World Elves (not generic RMSS main book elves) don’t get the mediation 2 hours vs sleeping like humans. Neither do 1/2 Elves. That’s a significant deviation from the general elf rules which we just kinda presumed remained until we needed to determine who was and wasn’t awake. Does anyone know whether this was an intentional change for any specific reason or whether this is clarified further in any of the shadow world related books.

In the original Master Atlas, the elves did have the 2 hour meditation thing (SWMA 1st Edition, World Book p45: Races, Immortal Races, Elves).

The information disappears in the SWMA 2 and never comes back. Racial information in SWMA 2 changed significantly, and changed back in SWMA 3 but that part was not restored.

I don't know if it is intentional or simply something that was forgotten in SWMA2 and no one thought to include it again in the later atlases.

I was also left out when the races and culture book was done. It seems to have been an intentional change but not a very good one.
