Random Errata List
« on: June 09, 2007, 04:44:43 AM »
I'm going through the first product in a copy edit.  I've found a few concept errors as well, so I've started a list.

Nephilim:  Nephilim are actually balanced between sin and vitrue, the mid point in their fall.  In the main book, first printing, they have essentially the same personality as Demons of Sin and Cambions, which is boring.

Gaerydd:  I say Gaerydd has no aristocracy.  That's not true.  They have an aristocracy of greatly reduced power, which essentially is in charge of military musters.  the fact that they don't overthrow the theocracy speaks to the real power of the Church.

Hegarion:  I say a few times the Church claims Hegarion used only divine magic creating the elemental wonders.  That isn't true.  They know he was a wizard, they just know he created a lot of holy items (many are cherished Church relics).  So they know that he wasn't a witch, and he existed before the current ban on magic, so he's sort of grandfathered in.  (They ignore the fact that magic had been banned once before).

The Illuminated:  There's a typo that makes the entry seem to say that they reveal their ultra secret organization to any king and clergy that seems like a good guy.  No.  :)  They have AGENTS with all the powerful good kings, though, for manipulation purposes.

So what consequences does that have? Can Nefilim actually decide between good and evil? Are they constantly torn between sin and virtue?

Yeah.  That's why I'm surprised I wrote the other thing.  :)

Yeah, I'm glad you changed it. I really don't like this "all members of race x are evil" thing. Although the explanation for cambions being evil in EoH is one of the best I've ever seen.

And to be clear, they aren't necessarily evil either, but very few people ask probing moral questions before killing them.  As a rule, that probably makes you follow the crowd.  :)

Yeah, there is Ogduk the warrior in Uzar?g. I really liked him and am still thinking of building an adventure around him.

Ludremon:  My Adventure Seed declaration had holes in it.  Someone pointed out (in a review, I think), that the way I worded it, the whole nation could be nuked, or turn into an Ulcer, or something else that has world-shaking effects, and I have to write to allow for all those contingencies.  :)  So I clarified that I will be forced to make some basic assumptions about the nature of Ludremon in your game, despite it's Adventure Seed status.  These include things like the map not changing, the location of cities remaining more or less the same, the general nature of the government and the people, etc.

Is there any kind of errata print out that has all the updated info from you've written in these forums? It would be nice to have all the errata in one place printed out and in front of me when I am running this campaign. This isn't just for me but others that maybe don't peruse the forums.
