Restoring Concussion Hits with skills?

Other than natural healing, drugs/herbs, and psionics can First Aid and/or skills from the Tech/Trade*Medical group be used to restore an injured patient's Concussion Hits?

  IIRC the rules from the RMFRP/RMSS School of Hard Knocks says that first aid and (something something) doubles the base rate of healing.


 I would guess that TerryTee's comment above would be true about you need some basic medical equipment to get double healing by using the first aid skill.
 Other wise as you said herbs, medical drugs and Psionics would be healing in SM:P.

It essentially works out that resting on your own is good, but you get doubled benefit if someone competent is caring for you in good conditions.

Hits heal fast as is.  However, you could house rule with an absolute success a number of hits equal to the skill ranks in first/second aid are restored instantly.  If you want to be freindlier, then restrore the hits on a success and twice the hits as ranks on an absolute success.

Space Master 1st and 2nd editions had devices which, on a successful static maneuver roll, restored a defined range of hits per round.

With medical equipment, yes.
In the SM:P Equipment Manual:
The dermal closer heals concussion hits directly.
The various Knitters and Regenerators either speed up healing a lot (minutes instead of hours) or heal hits directly.

Read section 39.0 in the Privateers book as well.

IIRC, to be more specific, this only applies to Concussion Hits.  For injuries, the wounded person gets a bonus for the recovery roll.
